Today’s high-speed sensor applications produce large amounts of data. The ability to off load that data from the storage device is a key process in the evaluation and processing of the data. To speed up access to recorded data, Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions has developed the Vortex SAN Access Kit (SAK). The SAK provides a dedicated Fibre Channel (FC) link directly between a workstation and the disk storage system.
The SAK consists of a FC host bus adapter (FC-HBA) and SAN Access Software (SAS) that accesses large storage devices via FC from a Host PC. The host bus adapter is available in PCI Express® (PCIe) and PCI-X form factors. It connects to SBOD, RAID or JBOD storage systems, via arbitrated loop (FC-AL) or switched FC topologies. The SAK allows for efficient access to Vortex drives and recordings through a web-based GUI, or within user applications via the Storage API.
