Vanguard CompactPCI (cPCI) Bus Analyzer, Exerciser, Protocol Checker and Compliance Checker
Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions' Vanguard CompactPCI Bus Analyzer offers the solution for PCI / PCI-X analysis, exercising, protocol detection, and compliance checking. With a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface, this CompactPCI analyzer takes Curtiss-Wright Controls’ Bus Analyzers’ power and flexibility to unprecedented productivity.
The Vanguard CompactPCI supports PCI and PCI-X protocol and signaling. Both the PCI and CompactPCI form factors share the SAM (State Analyzer Module) module, interchangeable between the PCI and CompactPCI carrier boards. The 3U Vanguard CompactPCI behaves either as a peripheral card or system controller. An Application Programming Interface or a PC running Windows and BusView graphical user interface controls the bus analyzer.
State Analyzer With highly advanced, user-friendly triggering, filtering and counting capabilities, Curtiss-Wright Controls’ Vanguard CompactPCI State Analyzer captures and displays 64-bit or 32-bit PCI-X/PCI bus activity up to 133 MHz. The state analyzer’s choice of three sampling modes--Clock Mode, Transfer Mode and Standard Mode--provides optimum bus analysis for a given problem
Exercisers Vanguard CompactPCI’s two flexible and easy to use Exerciser versions (basic and enhanced) allow concurrent operation of two DMA engines, a target memory with I/O and memory spaces, and a command executer. A flexible script feature allows users to make test scripts and to automate tasks.
Protocol Checker Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions’ (formerly VMETRO) Vanguard CompactPCI’s optional protocol checker for PCI-X and PCI automatically detects up to 71 PCI-X and 45 PCI protocol errors, helping the user to discover bus hardware errors without even understanding the problem. While the state analyzer, the bus utilization statistics, and the other Vanguard CompactPCI bus analyzer functions are active, the protocol checker can run in the background, screening the bus for errors. If the protocol checker is used as the trigger source for the analyzer(s), the state and timing analyzers provide a comprehensive picture of the bus activity around the point when an error was found, helping the user to identify and correct the problem.
