Multi-node processing units are packaged together with high performance, net-centric air-cooled sturdy Sensor Management Unit (SMU). The SMU performs data fusion functions by gathering, storing, managing, and re-transmitting crucial data to ground stations quickly and accurately with legacy and technologically advanced high-speed, high bandwidth sensor/payload interfaces.

Curtiss-Wright Controls SMU facilitates data management from all airborne payload configurations by incorporating support for numerous I/O interfaces, including Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), Fiber Channel, 1553, ECL, RS-422/485/232, and RS-170 video.

Both ground station electronics and our sensor management family share the same technology building blocks and operate together to provide communication between unmanned aerial vehicles and ground stations.
