The Vortex SDRxE is a turn-key GbE streaming data recorder system consisting of a uniquely equipped 3U controller combined with a reliable, scalable storage subsystem. Up to four 1GbE signals can be recorded simultaneously. For demanding GbE sensor-to-processor streaming data applications, the Vortex SDRxE has everything you require.
Features
- 4 channels of GbE data recorded
- 500MB/s of total input data recording (4 channels x 125MB/s)
- UDP or TCP protocols recorded
- Optical input via 850nm SFP transceivers with LC connectors
- Scalable storage with SBOD or RAID
- 4 channels of GbE data playback
- Data Retrieval via out-of-band Ethernet control port (standard)
- Data Retrieval via Fibre Channel (optional kit)
- Graphical User Interface (GUI)
- Timestamp of each data frame
Unique Data Capture & TimestampOnly the Vortex family has the unique RapidReplay™ hardware system. This hardware allows the SDRxE to capture incoming GbE data frames and to timestamp each frame at full GbE line rate. With extremely accurate timestamping prior to storage, your data can later be played back via the GbE channels just like it was recorded. RapidReplay time-stamping also gives you the accuracy needed for detailed post-analysis of your valuable data.
Scalable Storage Supports Any Record Time Time-stamped data is transferred via FC to an external Vortex 3U SBOD. With sixteen 450GB FC disks, one SBOD provides 7.2TB of storage! If you have four channels of 125MB/s GbE data (as in the SDR4E system), nearly 4 hours of recording time is possible. If you need more record time, then add another SBOD. FC disks are designed for 24/7 service with MTBF of >1,600,000 hours.
