LOW40 — 40-Channel, High-Power, Low Side Driver
Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions’ LOW40, a 40-Channel, high-power, general purpose, discrete output card features 40, low-side, open (Darlington) collector drivers and provides access to emitter commons, per channel transient protection, and temperature monitoring capabilities. The LOW40 turns on/off external relays, solenoids, small DC motors, high-power LEDs, incandescent lamps, valves, etc. Its modular design holds up to 200 discrete outputs through a single VME slot with the VMESC5 carrier or up to 240 outputs through a single PC slot with the ISASC6 carrier. For a more customized, modular I/O system solution, users can mix Curtiss-Wright Controls’ LOW40 with other IP Modules. Application Features
- On-board temperature sensor that monitors the board’s ambient temperature, preventing overheating.
- Eight channels of low-side (open collector) drivers per byte lane.
- Byte-lane enable/disable capability, which allows users to turn off/on a byte lane with a single control bit; eliminate the need for additional, cumbersome software programs; and save time and money.
- Built in transient protection for inductive loads, such as relays.
