GLX4000 Series - 144 Port Physical Layer Switch

Curtiss-Wright Controls GLX4000 Physical Layer Switches accept up to three modular port cards with forty-eight (48) ports per card, making them scaleable. Both non-retimed and retimed port card versions are available with Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers. Each Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions SFP transceiver provides the physical ports for various media and is hot-swappable. Different types of SFP transceivers support a variety of network configurations. Another port card version accepts Firewire (1394B) signals directly at up to 1600 Mb/s. Two port card options support 10Gb/s protocols such as 10GbE: a 12-port card (RT10000) using XFP transceivers and switching via the backplane, and a 48-port card (RT11000) using smaller SFP+ transceivers with on-board local switching.

Curtiss-Wright Controls GLX4000 Layer 1 switches come with hot-swappable power supplies, fans and port cards so users can quickly add and replace parts without affecting system up-time. The GLX4000 LINUX operating system, controlling firmware, and nonvolatile port configuration data reside on the module. While it can be removed for security reasons, the Compact Flash module acts as the unit’s disk drive for the controller’s CPU.
