FX400 Fibre Channel PMC Card

Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions’ FX400 Fibre Channel Dual-Channel (DC) host bus adapter (HBA) cards, ideal for rugged, conduction cooled and military fibre channel applications, meet the demands of high-bandwidth data communications and storage applications.  The FX400 series of products support the SCSI Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) and Internet Protocol (IP), making it unnecessary to deal directly with the FC interface. Featuring two separate high-performance RISC I/O engines to minimize host CPU overhead, the FX400 DC cards maximize the superior communication and interconnect capabilities of the FC standard.

Curtiss-Wright Controls’ FX400 DC cards combine the functions of two independent FC 4.25 Gbps channels on a single HBA, minimizing the number of required host computer slots, while providing the performance of two separate HBAs--a minimal number of Single Board Computers (SBC) or PMC slots establishes an efficient Fibre Channel (FC) system.

The FX400 DC card’s channels each sustain up to 400 MBps transfer rate and up to 800 MBps transfer rate in full duplex, achieving 1600 MBps in combined throughput. Both channels on the FX400 DC card also support 1.0625 Gbps, 2.125 Gbps, and 4.25 Gbps rates, using Auto-Speed Negotiation to automatically detect and switch to the appropriate rate. This allows the FX400 cards to interoperate at 1.0625 Gbps and 2.125 Gbps with existing FC devices and provides seamless transition to higher performance 4.25 Gbps devices.
