Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions has an AS/ISO certified military electronics engineering, manufacturing and testing facility, specializing in the production of rugged, electric/electronic enclosures, circuit card assemblies, cable and wiring harnesses, complex system integration, engineering prototypes, and power control and distribution subsystem assemblies. We offer electronic contract manufacturing services in both our Santa Clarita, CA and Littleton, MA locations. With extensive expertise in obsolescence management, the Littleton facility also provides a broad range of long-term support services.

Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions is uniquely qualified to handle the manufacture of highly-specialized military electronics. It has achieved ISO 9001:2000, AS9100 and ISO 14000 certifications, ensuring the highest levels of quality assurance and cost containment in the industry.

In order to satisfy the unique requirements of defense industry customers, our facilities have also secured the following:

Customers often rely on CWCDS for the manufacture of legacy products, enabling them to focus their own manufacturing expertise on new products and programs. Our experience in product sustainment enables us to easily handle these long-term production contracts, which often extend over a number of years. Customers also rely on us to handle short production runs that are not economically feasible within their own facility. The size and workflow of our facilities makes it easy for us to handle these short production runs at a reasonable cost.

The Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions manufacturing and testing operations are organized into six distinct areas:

1. Circuit Card Assembly: We have state-of-the art surface mount circuit card assembly capability. In support of our many legacyproduct manufacturing programs, Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions maintains a complete through-hole manufacturing capability, with a capacity of 40,000 CCAs per year.
2. Cable Assembly: We have extensive experience in the preparation and assembly of complex cable harnesses, with a capacity of 4 million terminations per year. A wide variety of cable sizes and lengths are supported, from 40 to 00 gauge wire and cable lengths of 2 inches to 200 feet.
3. System Integration Assembly: This capability is based on flexible, product cell based assembly stations that can be quickly changed to accommodate new products. Tooling, work instructions, and supplies can be quickly swapped for assembly of different products.
4. Environmental Stress Screening (ESS): We maintain extensive test capabilities with five vibration tables, eighteen thermal cycle chambers and a radio transmitter burn-in chamber. In addition, one combined thermal and vibration test station is available as well as one thermal and shock chamber.
5. Specialty Item Build Areas: Assembly stations are available for a variety of unique product requirements and include unit rebuild, precision mechanical assembly, high-volume assembly, and new product development and startup.
6. Functional Test Capabilities: Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions also offers complete electrical, electronic and RF test capabilities. Our team of test equipment engineers can develop the test equipment design solutions for your program requirements.
