100 MSa/s IF and Baseband Recorder with Playback

Overview

Based on Curtiss-Wright’s Vortex-VME platform, this readyto- run baseband recorder with playback can capture and play back signals at a sustained rate of 100 Mega Samples per second, with 14 bits resolution. Storage capacity can easily be extended by means of external storage units. The recorder operates from a webbased Graphical User Interface (GUI) and can therefore also be remotely controlled over a network.

Targeted Recorder

This Targeted Recorder is tailored for raw analog data recording and is well suited for signal analysis in highspeed environment typically found in laboratories working with radar, sonar, digital radio and surveillance applications. It can also work as a stand-alone module in an embedded application where real-time analog recording is required.

Storage

The recorded data is accessible from the GUI in a browser style interface where all storage management and recording functions are performed. The available storage devices in the system can be organized in several groups where a recording file system can reside. This feature makes it very easy to handle large amounts of storage and the system storage capacity can grow to almost any capacity.

Powerful

  • 2 channels at 100 MSa/s, 14-bit resolution (when using 2 channels simultaneously, recording speed is limited to 80MSa/s per channel)
  • 300 KHz to 500 MHz analog input frequencies (3dB pass band)
  • Two simultaneous data streams (2 inputs, or 2 outputs)
  • Internal or external clock
  • Trigger functionality Flexible
  • High-speed access to storage directly from external analysis stations
  • Optional DDC support for data reduction
  • Supports undersampling for direct IF recording
  • Up to 16x oversampling of output signal for better signal quality
  • Storage is easily extended to any size by means of external daisy-chained storage units (Fibre Channel SAN architecture)
  • Easy to integrate to workstation analysis packages like MatLab Innovative
  • Integrated upconverter for digital mixing of output (320MS/s output)
  • Quick-look function to monitor signal in real-time by external applications
  • Easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) controls for start/stop recording, system configuration and storage management
  • Full remote control API based on standard XML-RPC protocol
  • Optional support for stop trigger and looped (endless) recording
